Bio

I was born in New York City but resided there for only a blink of an eye. What followed was a series of cities that my family and I zigzagged through every few years, taking with us little bits and pieces of our former homes. Change is something I quickly grew accustomed to, evident by my comfort in chaos and frustration with anything customary. Our hop-scotching came to a standstill when we reached my parent's beautiful homeland, the Dominican Republic, an island I called (and still, in my heart call) home for most of my teenage years and thus I feel should be credited for unraveling my rambunctious imagination.

I moved back to the states for college (William Paterson University) in 2006, with hopes of eventually becoming a journalist. Muddled in between the repetitive and mundane coursework that my major provided, I developed an urge to create some excitement in my life; to create some art. Inspired by photos I had taken years prior of my former home, I took up photography as a minor. My black, LGBT and Latino identity heavily influence my work. Once I attended my first photo shoot set, my photography career path cemented. I received my MFA in Visual Arts from Penn State a couple of years later, and I've been in the art industry ever since.

Lemoj Studios is a labor of love. So much love. There is nothing in this world that I rather be doing, than this. I’ve put my blood, sweat and tears into this. I can’t thank you enough for your support.
